Using CARMA technology in the classroom offers considerable advantages for learning. In a study of student performance in an Internet-Based Multimedia Classroom (that is, a classroom that "combines the best practices of distance learning with traditional 'brick and mortar' classrooms"^1.) it was shown that student performance improved significantly by making recorded lectures available to students.

In summary, the paper observed:

A nearly one-half point mean grade improvement when lectures were made available online.

A 36% increase in honors grades when lectures were made available online.

A 56% reduction in failures when lectures were made available online.
